Magnetostrictive Level Transmitter The UDM Series Level Transmitter includes this magnetostrictive level transmitter. The unit works on the magnetostrictive principle. A pulse travels down a waveguide inside the stainless steel tube. The magnetic float moves with the liquid level. The float magnetic field interacts with the pulse. This creates a return signal. The transmitter measures the time delay between pulse and return. This gives the float position. The same principle measures a second float for interface level. The transmitter outputs level interface and temperature values. The housing and probe tube are 316L stainless steel. The waveguide is fully sealed inside the tube. It has no contact with the media. This gives long service life with no wear. The Float Level Sensor uses magnetic coupling for general tank use. For high precision applications this magnetostrictive type gives better accuracy.
