In the cryogenic petrochemical industry, LCB (ASTM A352 Grade LCB) cryogenic carbon steel castings have become the preferred material for cryogenic storage tanks, pressure pipelines and control valves due to their strong adaptability to harsh working conditions. In low-temperature petrochemical plants, the storage temperature of media such as ethylene and propylene is often as low as -40℃ to -10℃, and there are pressure fluctuations during the transportation process (up to 10MPa). However, LCB, through a low-carbon design of ≤0.20% and nickel element strengthening, has a tensile strength of 485-655MPa to withstand high pressure. It can also maintain excellent toughness at a low temperature of -46℃, preventing the valve body from cracking caused by medium impact. For trace amounts of hydrogen sulfide (≤50ppm) that may be present in petrochemical media, the anti-corrosion performance of LCB base can reduce inner wall corrosion.
